This is the big week for Garrett's washer and dryer give away! We will be drawing for them this black Friday...although I won't even be there for all of the excitement because I'll be gone for break! But, congrats to the lucky person who wins :)
I'm definitely ready for a break though. I'm starting to get very drained from school and getting up so early everyday, and it's really starting to show through my voice on-air. So hopefully I'll be back up to normal after I get some rest over break :) Happy early Thanksgiving to all, and I'll be back in a week! Have a fabulous manic Monday :)

Rush Limbaugh being shut down...
Maybe Rush Limbaugh is a popular in the world of politic radio, but he sometimes can be proved wrong or in this case, be shut down by a caller...check it out!
The top 5 radio personalities of all time...according to Talker's Magazine
Here is the top 5 radio personalities of all time....according to Talker's Magazine.
1. Rush Limbaugh
2. Howard Stern
3. Don Imus
4. Larry King
5. Sally Jessy Raphael
What makes them so great? It's their passion, followed by their ability to make the complex understandable, their sense of humor, and willingness to stick with their beleifs. Limbaugh is a great example of this because he brings to his on-air analysis an understanding of the media, politics, human nature, history, the market, and many other factors. Often he is able to see past the façade people and organizations erect to disguise or soften their intent because he recognizes patterns he has understood and noted before. Also "Rush has a devotion to discovering the truth. This is why Rush sticks by his beliefs: because he believes he is on a quest for the truth, and over time, as Shakespeare put it, "the truth will out.""

What makes an overall good radio station?
In my search for what makes an overall great radio station, I came across a great web page that basically sums it all up in three different categories. Check it out for yourself as I have sourced the most important pieces of information here. Source: http://www.enati.com/lance/radio/goodradio.html
"First of all, there have to be personalities that are captivating, voices that are friends you would let into your home. So-called good radio voices help, but even a man with a raspy voice like KGO's Bernie Ward can fit the bill by building a relationship with the listener. On music radio, this means having something interesting to say between songs, but not something shocking (the obvious example being Howard Stern) or assenine. Stations that claim to emphasize music and completely gag their humans are missing the point."
"The truly great radio stations are clearly local. In the case of music radio, that often means sponsoring events in the community, from food drives to free outdoor concerts where people from the station appear, but it can also take the form of play lists emphasizing local artists or ignoring national charts in favor of local record sales. In talk radio, that means having local people talking about local events for at least a good portion of the day. Good syndicated personalities don't need to be excluded, but the best stations have a good sprinkling of people that understand the community."
"Finally, a good radio station sounds familiar while never failing to surprise. On the music radio side, this means having a clear "sound" while not limiting the play list to forty songs. When a new song comes on, the listener should not have been able to predict it but it should flow from the previous piece."

Some more hands on expereince...
I am really starting to get the hang of this whole radio thing...Today, DJ Becci was gone so I had to take over for what she usually does. I was a little intimidated by the idea because Scott runs his show on a really tight schedule and I didn't want to mess anything up!
It started off well and I eventually messed up a few things, but it's crazy how just from watching Becci everyday, I actually get a grasp on things. I've never really had to run all the equipment by myself, but after I got the hang of it it was actually kind of fun! It also made the time go by a lot faster and I felt way more involved in the talk show. Scott said he will bring me in some afternoon to really sit down and get a grasp on how all the equipment works. That is definitely something I'd like to have more knowledge of. Happy Friday :)

I learned lots of new things today!
Today, on this glorious Tuesday, Scott had me come into the the radio station to learn some new stuff. I was actually very excited about this because I am not one to enjoy doing the same thing everyday.
He showed me how to use the Adobe Edit program which was pretty simple actually. It looks a lot more intimidating than it really is. I got to edit a Hometown Husker interview with Faron Klinghoeffer (not sure on that spelling!)
I never realized that when your interviewing someone on the phone they say "ummmm" and "welllll" and "annnndddd" a lot as word fillers Oh! and "ya knoooww." haha
Well my job was to get rid of all that junk to make Faron not sound like an idiot. Not gonna lie, I made him sound pretty darn smart! It was like he didn't even have to think about the question before answering it! Haha...ohh the power of technology :)

I'm Backkkkkk!!!!
We have a pretty big week coming up on the station because the CMA's are this week! I'm not a huge country fan, but I'm trying, I promise I really am. I mean I am interning at a country station so I should probably get used to it and learn to like it. What I have I learned about country so far? Here is is! (Source:http://www.press.uchicago.edu/Misc/Chicago/662845.html)
1. "Atlanta, rather than Nashville, should have become "Music City, U.S.A." Not only was there was more local talent in Atlanta, but more importantly, in the mid-1920s the five elements that together made commercial country music possible: radio, record making, live touring, song writing, and song publishing, all came together in Atlanta."
2. "Jimmie Rodgers, the "Father of Country Music," didn't think he was the father of anything but three daughters. When "discovered" by Ralph Peer of RCA he was just trying to be a snappy southern vaudeville act. In a letter to his wife, Carrie, he said derisively of the music Peer wanted him to perform: "If I can't get 'em in town, we'll go to the woods." In the same year—1927—Peer also "discovered" the Carter Family."
3. "Henry Ford, the auto maker, put more money into promoting country music in the 1920s than anyone else. Ford was frightened by what he saw as the urban decadence of couples jazz dancing. In response he organized fiddling contests and promoted square dances across the country to encourage what he saw as the older, more wholesome forms of entertainment."
4. "How did "western" get linked to "country"? Credit (or blame) Hollywood. Luckily, Hollywood didn't call the tune, just the dress code. Gene Autry and other Western-cowboy-outfitted artists were much more popular in B films of the 1930s and 1940s than were their Southern-hillbilly-styled counterparts like Roy Acuff. So, emerging honky-tonk artists like Patsy Montana, Ernest Tubb, Hank Snow, Rex Griffin, and Webb Pierce donned cowboy-styled outfits to sing their hillbilly songs of life's travails. Increasingly backed by hot, electrified instruments, they shaped the sound, lyric, and look that has been at the core of country music ever since."
5. "Why is country music called "country?" Joe McCarthy, the anti-Communist witch-hunting Senator from Wisconsin, had a lot to do with it. From the late 1940s country had been a musical genre in search of a label—something less degrading than "hillbilly." Everything from "old-time" to "oat tunes" was tried out, but "folk" gained currency with the unexpected success of the Weavers, whose hits included "Goodnight Irene" and "On Top of Old Smoky." Even Hank Williams called himself a folk singer. Then came the 1952 Senate hearings, where McCarthy demanded that the Weavers' lead singer, Pete Seeger, testify about his "Communist leanings." The industry dropped "folk" like a hot rock and "country and western" or simply "country" came into wide use."
6. "What is authentic country music? Authenticity in performance has a completely different meaning than authenticity with reference to objects. Authenticating a document or work of art involves finding whether it is the original object. However, if you are an authentic performer, let's say, and I copy your look, lyric, or style, I am to that degree imitating and not authentic. Thus what is taken to be authentic is continually changing. Will country music survive the millennium? Is authentic country music fading with the passing of the country artists born into Southern rural poverty during the Great Depression years: Loretta Lynn, George Jones, Johnny Cash, and Merle Haggard? Could be, but not necessarily."
That's the most intriguing but interesting things I came across. Happy Country Music to all!

Im sick...booooo....
Today...on this perfect Hump Day Wednesday, I have a case of the coughs, chills and fever. That's not something I really want to be hacking up on air, so I decided to stay home. I will be back Monday as I will be gone for UNK Cross Country on Friday!
I'm just hoping I start feeling better :(
I'm just hoping I start feeling better :(
And...it's once again Monday...
I was pondering this question today..."Do you really have to have a college degree to be a radio personality or DJ"?
The answer in no....actually you don't. Of course if you have more experience in possibly working for a college radio station that would put you ahead of others applying, but a degree is not the main thing they look at when hiring for the station. This is what I found is the most important thing according to http://www.voiceartistes.com/article7.html.
"Anchoring or Radio Jockeying depends on how you deliver, your originality, the punch in your content, your style, your personality, how you present your programme and further how you connect with your audience. An RJ should have good communication powers and language skills. Never the less, RJ courses do help to develop your confidence or bring out your personality or inbuilt caliber in hiding but are not a necessity Many of the RJ's today have never gone through any course and have a good name today. RJ hunts or talent search are often conducted by FM channels to bring out original unique talent."
P.s. RJ (Radio Jockey)
So...take that for what it's worth...

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY! Just one more....FRIDAY!
IT'S THE FRIDAY MORNING PARTY! Today I'm going to talk about how important it is to use a good voice on the radio, because I don't know if anybody has ever noticed to me but a high squeaky voice is not very attractive sounding on the radio. This sounds a little weird, but you kind of have to have a "sexy" voice for people to want to listen to you...Here it goes!
1. You must be original and have you own style.
2. SLOW DOWN! Think about what your saying before you have a case of the word vomit.
3. Your other voice performance or qualities like mimicry, local dialects and comedy or humour items helps to carry on the show.
4. Provide variations and modulation in your voice
5. You should be fluent but not monotonous as this may create boredom in your audience monotone is a surefire way of losing your audience.
And that is what makes you have a good radio voice :) Carry on my friends...

Halloween Happenings!!
Halloween is getting near and I'm getting very excited! We have this music bed we always play for Halloween stuff going on and it gets me super pumped about it :)
The more and more I listen to Becci, the more I realize how talented at radio she is. She has the perfect voice for it and sounds very natural on the radio. I think she really understands the concept of being a good radio personality. What are good qualities of an on air radio personality? Here are my top 5!
1. Must have a dynamic personality
2. Be able to think on your feet
3. Know how to operate a sound board and other industry equipment
4. Stay updated on current events
5. Be willing to adjust to a format

Is the sleep deprivation catching up to me yet?
O Monday...How I hate you. Haha...today was a typical Monday. We kicked off some new promotions though! The newest one is to tie in with Black Friday. We are giving away a brand new washer and dryer set! I mean, if I could be in the drawing I'd definitely be all over that!
As I'm getting more experience on the radio, I am starting to learn how to be more comfortable talking and having more of a conversation with Becci and Scott rather than reading from a script. One thing that I really need to work on is slowing down. Sometimes I'l listen to my voice tracks and I'm just thinking, "jeeeeshhh! I am going 100 mph!" I just have the tendacy to talk fast when I'm reading off of a paper.
Other than that, it was pretty much the typical Monday like we always have! Peace <3

Friday already?!
Today was a blasty blast on the radio. It was just me and Becci, so actually It went by a little bit faster than usual because I actually had stuff to do instead of just sitting there and chiming in every 2 seconds.
She showed me how to do phone call recordings and how to fill out the topic of the day surveys, which is stuff I have actually been curious about. I really enjoy working with Becci. We kind of similar personalities so I think we just work well together on air.
We even had people call in and tell us how they enjoyed listening to us and they thought we were funny. I think that in order to have a successful show you have to have people who actually like each other and are friends to make it good because then you can crack each other shit without pissing anybody off. It was a good Friday to say the least :) Catch ya later!

Back to reality...
And the adventure ends...back to school and back to reality...which means back to waking up at the butt crack of dawn.
It's crazy how just not being here for a little while can really throw off my game. To say the least, I have had much better days on the radio haha...and Scott was not in the best mood today.
I guess I'm just one of those people who really like to get things done right then and there. We were giving away tickets today and I asked Scott where the tickets were...ya ummm...not the best idea! I had to make myself not cry haha
But moral of the story...being yelled at is just part of the game...and I guess it's good experience so I learn how to hold my composure together.

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY!
TGIF is all I have to say...and even more so because this weekend is FALL BREAK! Guess what that means? NO CLASS ON MONDAY OR TUESDAY. Which also means that I get to sleep in on Monday. I love the radio and all, but I'm definitely ready for some sleeping in!
And this has nothing to do with the radio, but I'm going to Colorado over break to go hiking! So I can't wait to tell all our listeners about this adventure...which I hopefully live to tell aka hopefully I don't get eaten by a bear.
It's actually really crazy but the listeners actually give a rats ass about our lives. Sometimes I'll have callers who ask me how cross country is going and stuff, and I'm just like, "Holy cow...somebody actually cares about my boring life!" Haha...not going to lie...it makes me feel pretty gosh darn good :)

Pondering...
I love being on the Scottyo show and all, but I think it would be absolutely fabulous if I could have my own show. I think I would do things a little bit differently...
There is a lot of structure on the show, which is good, but if it was me I wouldn't have quite that much structure...I feel like it gets a little repetitive everyday...
For instance, we always have the same topic every Friday...which is: What are you doing this weekend?" I guess if I was the listener, I would be like, "AHHHH! Do something different!" The layout of the show is exactly the same every single day.
Maybe I just have to creative of a mind, but if I were a listener I would definitely want to have a little variety if you know what I mean...

Not the normal Monday...
Today was not a normal Monday at the radio station.
Everything was going smoothly, especially since Pan Bello brought us all in breakfast. Then all the sudden one of the ladies comes into our station and tells Scott in needs to come out into the lobby to take care of something...a bat had flown into the radio station and was taking a little nap on the blinds on the window.
Courageous Becci went out to take care of things because Scott really wasn't having it. As she went to shake the bat off the blinds it took off in a very unpredictable flight and sweeped Scott's neck and attacked my head.
Man o man did I scream...I think our listener's found it quite funny as Murphy, the Hits 106 DJ was doing a play by play as her was on the air...
What an intersting start to a Monday morning...probably going to make for an interesting week :)

What a great idea! And it's Friday!
So...Becci, Scott and myself decided today that next time we do a date night promotion we are going to go about it just a little bit different...
We have the meet and greet with Miranda Lambert, Josh Kelly and Eric church that we are drawing for in a week and it's for couples who want to go. Next time...duh duh duh....we are going to have a meet and greet date night promotion for singles! We will put singles in the drawing...one separate for male and female and draw to randoms to sit by each other at a concert and get a chance to meet whoever we are promoting! Now wouldn't that be fun...
Now we just got to find people who have enough guts to do it...muahahaha

So far I have really learned that we get some crazy people that listen to us on the radio...or might I say just some very persistent people. Some of these people really get into our radio promotions which is really great but some mornings I'm just like, "Holy cow, do you people have a life at all besides sitting by the radio and calling in for every single promotion every single day?!
I can handle the every other dayers but we get some that just call everyday...o and then they want to know if they can qualify their spouse as well on the same phone call. NO. YOU CAN'T!
Haha...I guess I should appreciate our fans a little more but some days it get's a little crazy. Now for the fans that bring us in food, your my favorite :)

The Monday Blues
Oooooo how I hate Mondays. It is so hard after a relaxing weekend to get up at 5 a.m.! Especially when I'm sleeping until noon on the weekend...haha...but I have to tell myself to get peppy and get ready for the day because I have already learned that if you fell groggy and talk groggy, that is exactly how you will come across on air.
We have lot's of exciting promotions going on right now at the studio. We still have Cinemania 2 going on as well as a date night drawing for the Miranda Lambert concert. The winner of that promotion get's two Miranda Lambert tickets as well as two meet and greet's with Miranda Lambert. Now wouldn't that be cool!
Not going to lie though...I get sick of all the prize whores...haha...we get the same people calling in constantly and they always win all the prizes! So, for the sake of us all, I really hope that we draw a winner that hardly ever calls in or hardly ever wins anything for both of these promotions :)

It's Hummmppp Day!
As the weeks have went by, I have really started to get used to talking on the radio and being more comfortable with it. Honestly, sometimes I don't even realize that I am talking into a microphone on air because it becomes so comfortable that I feel like I am just having a conversation with Becci and Scott. I have really enjoyed myself thus far and could really see myself doing something like this in the future. I talked to Becci a little bit about how the pay rate is, which isn't the greatest, but I guess it's all about how much experience you have and who you know. I might be looking into a job in the field here in the near future!

That was a blond moment...
I was informed today of a mistake that I made on my voice tracking I did two weeks ago on Friday...It's really funny...but man o man did I have a blond moment...
So, I was doing the Skeeter Barnes Rewards Club Code and on the sheet it also had where Kid Cory was going to be on location next. He was going to be at Apple Market because they were having a big tent sale...which I just now realized means a big sale underneath a big tent. Haha...I am laughing as I type this...well, I thought it meant an actual camping tent sale. I thought it was weird, and I remember asking Becci if they were really having a tent sale and she was like..."ummm yes." So I went with it and made a fool of myself. I said, "Come on down to Apple Market and buy yourself a tent at their hug tent sale they have going on!"
I guess people showed up and asked where the tents were...which were non existent...my bad...haha...As I said before, this is definitely a learning experience :)

On location at Kearney Crete and Block!
Today I went on location to Kearney Crete and Block with D.J. Becci! It was really cool to see how the remote worked. It is a lot more simple than I thought! I figured there would be all sorts of things you had to hook up but really there was only an antenna that you have to plug in and then your microphone box...I think I could have even figured it out!
It was also crazy how many people showed up. We were putting people in a drawing for door prizes and Kearney Crete and Block was also cooking hot dogs and had all sorts of snacks for customers. I didn't realize so many people listened to us on the radio! I had people come up to me and say, "Are you Abby the Intern?" Haha...I was like, "Heck yes I am!" I thought it was cool that all these people listen to us on the radio.
So all of it went well...except for that we killed the battery in the on location Y 102 car...haha...guess you can't leave the radio running for two hours...thank God Becci's fiance has jumper cables...hahaha

I knew I'd catch a lot of crap for that...
Haha...the first thing that is said to me when I walked into the station this morning was..."Soo...since you over slept on Monday...it's your turn to buy breakfast!!!" Ugh...hahaha...we do this thing where if somebody is late or misses you have to buy breakfast for our morning crew show...I guess I'd rather do that than have them be upset with me.
I'm also excited because on Saturday, I get to go on location with Becci to Kearney Crete and Block. We are going to be signing people up for a free palliate of pavers of the winners choice and all sorts of cool door prizes. I'm excited to have this experience and see how the remote works!

Oooopppss...I guess it's bound to happen...especially on Mondays
My first mess up in 5 weeks...I overslept this morning. FAIL. I'm just glad they didn't get to upset with me. They just said it happens when you have to be up at 5 a.m. every morning. Hopefully that doesn't happen again because it's not very professional!
Holy Voice Tracking
Holy mother of voice tracking is all I have to say after today. I went in...oooo...probably around 12:30 today. I have XC practice at 3:45 and didn't think I'd have any problem making it on time. Think again. Becky was showing me how to do all this stuff and gave me a paper with all the voice tracks I needed to complete for her Friday afternoon show from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. I asked her how long it should take, and she replies, "OOO...I bet you'll be done in less than an hour." WRONG. Three hours later and exhausted I finally finished and barely made it to practice. That was stressful! I don't really like voice tracking because I am a perfectionist, and if I get the chance to make things perfect, I will. I would rather just be live on air, because if you make a mistake you just go with it, instead of re-recording it. Well, all I have to say is that is was a learning day :) I am glad I learned how to use some of the equipment though!
To many computers...
So, today after the morning show, Becky told me that she was going to show me how to use the equipment for the voice tracking I'm going to do tomorrow. Man o man...there I sat with three computers in front of me staring at them like I seen light for the first time. So many things to remember!!!! Ahhh!!! I asked loads of questions, so Becky probably thought I was crazy...haha...I guess it's better to ask questions and understand it than to not and completely mess everything up! Well, after her explaining it to me, we will just have to see how tomorrow afternoon goes for me...here goes nothing!

Monday Funday
It is Monday and I'm ready to go! Today we started all sorts of new promotions, which is always exciting because it gets the listeners all pumped up. We are are doing a Sears give away and a Cinema 8 promotion. With the Sears give away, we are having a drawing for a $300 tool set...now wouldn't that be nice! But, get this! The Cinema 8 promotion is giving away a years with of unlimited movie passes for four people! Man o man did the listeners go crazy for that! I have never had so many calls come in at once...I guess it's like a $10,000 value...craziness! I'm also very excited for Wednesday as I will be starting to learn how to voice track and possibly do some actual tracking for DJ Becci's on air show...that would be very cool :) Looks like it's going to be a good week!
Thank goodness it's the end of the week :)
It's the end of the week, and I must say I am very excited about this! For some reason I was exhausted today...I never thought that could affect me talking on the radio...but trust me, it definitely does. I didn't really notice until Scott said something, but my voice just wasn't exciting and I was very scattered brained as I tried to organize my thoughts while I was takling on air. This is more of a demanding job than I thought...you definitely have to be sure that you get plenty of rest because everybody can tell when you don't just by the sound of your voice! I bet the listeners thought I sounded like a sick dog...haha...o well, like they say...this is a learning experience...

Hump Day Wednesday
So...Im super excited because we are having hometown Huskers coming up and Scottyo asked if iI would like to partake in this segment. Would I?! Of course I want to meet our hometown Husker Jared Crick :) He also said he was going to show me a little more of the technical side of all the broadcasting equipment which I have been dying to learn about so maybe I could help out once in awhile and fill in and do my own segment! So i'll be learning all sorts of new stuff and I get to be in the same room as Jared Crick...WOO HOO! I can't wait to talk Husker football with him. I really want to go into the the sports side of broadcasting so I think I'll really enjoy this :) Happy Hump Day!
Labor Day
Nothing new today because guess what...It's Labor Day...and we get to celebrate all the labor we put in by having a day off :)
Friday Morning Party!
It's Friday! That's a big deal to us at the studio because it mean that we get the whole entire weekend off! Woop Woop! I love Friday's because we always ask the listeners what they are doing for the weekend for the Dr. Pepper, Diet Dr. Pepper question of the day. I like to hear what everybody is doing. Well this Friday there really wasn't much of a variety because guess what tomorrow is...duh duh duh...HUSKER FOOTBALL! We make a really big deal about Husker football here in the studio and I LOVE IT! It's fun to get everybody pumped up when we play the Husker fight song and the Husker tunnel walk song. I have really noticed that Y102 is a very family oriented station, which is fun. I don't know if a family oriented station is really where my personality fits but its a good start! This is kind of out there, but just after doing this for a couple weeks, I have came to the conclusion that my dry sense of humor would work well on the Bob and Tom Show :) Haha...in my dreams!
Commercial Time!
Today I created a commercial with D.J. Becci. It was for a telemarkter firm out of hastings. It was kind of fun because it's an actual commercial that will be used on air. What I learned from that is you have to have skill in acting a little bit to put together an entertaining commercial that people will notice. It's actually really hard to act when talking into a microphone because nobody is watching so I feel odd when I start getting into it. Hahaha...but then I just tell myself that everybody else here has to do it so I don't look stange to them. All we did was record it and then we hand it over to the producers to put it together. I'm excited to hear what it sounds like! I'm actually starting to get used to this whole getting up a 5 a.m. thing to. It's kind of nice to go in early and be done early for the day :)

The Start of Week 2
Man o man is it hard getting up at 5 a.m...I do have to admit that I give Scott and Becky credit for doing this everyday! Once I get there though, I'm glad I am up because I have a lot of fun doing the talk show with Scottyo and D.J. Becky. I am hoping that I will learn how to use some of this equipment eventually this semester. It would be cool to fill in sometime if they ever needed me to. I did do all of it on the KLPR station, which is the college radio station, but there is a lot more technical stuff I would like to learn here, such as doing the voice tracks for the morning greetings and advertisments for companies. So, hopefully I will get some experience with that this semester :) On a different note, I did master the phone today! I was pretty excited...haha...Man, I'm lame...
Ugh oh! They threw somethine new at me...haha
Well, today started off well, as Becky went and got McDonalds breakfast for everyone! Gosh...I just can't get enough of the bacon and cheese McGriddles...mmmm!!! But that's not the important thing haha...although it was a definite plus. Today, as Becky was getting breakfast, Scott told me t answer phone calls to record for the 9 o'clock hour. We usualy record about three or so and then we have the people wait on hold so we can get down their information for the drawing for prizes. Well, I just said sure thinking, "How hard could answering a phone be"? Wrong! I failed miserably...haha...it was a very entertaining experience for Scott. Instead of putting people on hold, I accidently pushed the hang up button. Oops! I guess I know for next time now. On the other hand, my weather reports are becoming and art :)
Day 2
My second day at the radio station went a little better...I actually got the weather reports down...haha hopefully it will become an art to me :) But, for the most part I am already getting more comfortable talking on air. The hardest thing actually is watching what I say. I sometimes forget we are live on air, and I have to really think about what I say before it all comes out so don't say something offensive or inappropriate. Scott and Becky are awesome to work with and I feel very privileged to work with two very respectable radio personalities.

My First Day
Today...da da daaaa...was my first day at my internship with Y102, the country station in Kearney. I didn't really know what to expect, but for the most part it was better than what I expected. The way I was invisioning it was a little something like this...I walk in...they show me how to do some boring work (while I watch them do cool things)...I maybe go get them coffee or go on a breakfast run...and maybe get to sit in the studio. It was the opposite! I got to go on air the first day on the Scottyo Show with Scottyo and Dj Becky. I noticed that when they are on the air it is more just going by the seat of your pants then anything, which is kind of nice because there isn't so much pressure! But for the first day...I thought it was awsome...well, except for the 5 times that I messed up the weather report...haha....this could be a learning experience.
