The Start of Week 2

Man o man is it hard getting up at 5 a.m...I do have to admit that I give Scott and Becky credit for doing this everyday! Once I get there though, I'm glad I am up because I have a lot of fun doing the talk show with Scottyo and D.J. Becky. I am hoping that I will learn how to use some of this equipment eventually this semester. It would be cool to fill in sometime if they ever needed me to. I did do all of it on the KLPR station, which is the college radio station, but there is a lot more technical stuff I would like to learn here, such as doing the voice tracks for the morning greetings and advertisments for companies. So, hopefully I will get some experience with that this semester :) On a different note, I did master the phone today! I was pretty excited...haha...Man, I'm lame...

Ugh oh! They threw somethine new at me...haha

Well, today started off well, as Becky went and got McDonalds breakfast for everyone! Gosh...I just can't get enough of the bacon and cheese McGriddles...mmmm!!! But that's not the important thing haha...although it was a definite plus. Today, as Becky was getting breakfast, Scott told me t answer phone calls to record for the 9 o'clock hour. We usualy record about three or so and then we have the people wait on hold so we can get down their information for the drawing for prizes. Well, I just said sure thinking, "How hard could answering a phone be"? Wrong! I failed miserably...haha...it was a very entertaining experience for Scott. Instead of putting people on hold, I accidently pushed the hang up button. Oops! I guess I know for next time now. On the other hand, my weather reports are becoming and art :)

Day 2

My second day at the radio station went a little better...I actually got the weather reports down...haha hopefully it will become an art to me :) But, for the most part I am already getting more comfortable talking on air. The hardest thing actually is watching what I say. I sometimes forget we are live on air, and I have to really think about what I say before it all comes out so don't say something offensive or inappropriate. Scott and Becky are awesome to work with and I feel very privileged to work with two very respectable radio personalities.

My First Day

Today...da da daaaa...was my first day at my internship with Y102, the country station in Kearney. I didn't really know what to expect, but for the most part it was better than what I expected. The way I was invisioning it was a little something like this...I walk in...they show me how to do some boring work (while I watch them do cool things)...I maybe go get them coffee or go on a breakfast run...and maybe get to sit in the studio. It was the opposite! I got to go on air the first day on the Scottyo Show with Scottyo and Dj Becky. I noticed that when they are on the air it is more just going by the seat of your pants then anything, which is kind of nice because there isn't so much pressure! But for the first day...I thought it was awsome...well, except for the 5 times that I messed up the weather report...haha....this could be a learning experience.
